Are you using the Senior Duval gas boiler? Then check out the brand trouble codes. Forewarned - means armed: error values will help you quickly identify the place of failure, avoid serious problems with operation.
Design and operation of the Saunier Duval boiler
The company produces boilers in several variations. This is Saunier Duval Isofast. Wall-mounted double-circuit devices designed to work in two directions: for heating and hot water (DHW). Convenient electronic ignition allows you to instantly get a hot stream.
Thema Classic line is perfectly adapted to our working conditions. The system works stably even with constant pressure drops in the gas line. The heating temperature is controlled by flame modulation. Convenient control saves the settings even when a power outage occurs. In addition, Senior Duval models are resistant to power surges.
Errors and malfunctions of gas equipment
Code decryption can be found in the instructions. Typically, the manufacturer writes in a concise technical language, which does not clarify the situation for the user. Therefore, we have compiled a table of detailed descriptions.
The first cause of display malfunctions is a system failure. Restart the boiler. If the code lights up during a restart, then proceed to study our instructions and repair the equipment yourself.
Malfunction code | What does it mean | How to fix it yourself |
F1 | The system does not recognize the flame, or it goes out during ignition. | Diagnose flame electrode. Strip its contacts during oxidation, replace with a working part. |
F2 | Not enough air. | Check:
|
F3 | Repeated error F2. Ventilation problems. | See the solution for F2. |
F4 | Violation of flame control. | What to do:
|
F5 | DHW overheat protection tripped. The temperature exceeds 95 degrees. | Make sure that the water circulates normally in the system:
After fixing the problem, press the thermostat button, operation will resume. It is forbidden to press a key if the cause is not eliminated. Overheating can damage the boiler. |
F6 | The heating circuit sensor has failed. | Inspect the wiring and sensor contacts. In case of short circuit (short circuit), install a new part. |
F7 | The thermostat is defective. | Replace. |
F8 | The water heater thermistor is out of order. | Diagnose the product for short circuit or open circuit. Tighten the pins. |
F9 | Problems with the heating circuit. | Check the pressure sensor, as well as its circuit, for proper operation. |
F10 | The output thermistor is broken. | See the algorithm for F8. |
F11 | Failure of the user panel, its control board. | Inspect the contacts and wiring between the main and control board. |
F12 | Error on EBUS line. | Measure the EBUS voltage against the parameters. |
F13 | Circuit board problems. | Inspect the board, connections, installed code. After that, restart the system. Also inspect uninterruptible power supply for serviceability. |
F14 | Circuit overheat protection tripped. The temperature is fixed above 95 degrees. | The hydraulic resistance of the heat exchanger exceeds the norm. Fluid does not circulate well in the system. Possibly inappropriate antifreeze used. Fill in new coolant and connect a working heat exchanger. |
F15 | Faulty stepper gas supply motor. | Diagnose the assembly and its wiring. |
F16 | Flame problems. After shutdown, it does not go out for another 5 seconds. | Contact the wizard. |
F17 | The voltage has dropped in the network. | Connect a voltage regulator. |
F18 | Problems in the user interface. | Run diagnostics and board replacement. |
F19 | The overheat lock has worked. | Make sure that the temperature sensors are connected correctly. Connect new parts. |
F20 | The control panel does not fit the circuit. | Perform panel and circuit diagnostics. |
F21 | Low fluid pressure. | Adjust the operation of the circulation pump. Make sure the pressure sensor is working. |
F22 | High fluid pressure. | |
F23 | The problem with the circulation system. | Open the valves at the inlet of the heating circuit. Replace the pump. |
Other malfunctions
Those problems that are not displayed by the code, you can determine yourself. Failures are expressed by malfunctions in the boiler.
The heating circuit or DHW does not heat up.
- If the hot water is heated by a boiler, check its connections and correct connection.
- Inspect for serviceability: gas fittings, ignition unit, chimney flue. If clogged, clean one of the parts.
DHW is heating up, but there is no heating. Or vice versa.
First of all, make sure that the three-way valve, which switches flows between systems, is in good condition.
- Adjust the settings from summer to winter.
- Diagnose the temperature sensors.
In the absence of hot water:
- Open the stopcocks to the end.
- Clean the pressure detector.
- Clean water filters from contamination.
- Descale the heat exchanger.
- Clean the filter in the mixer.
Poor water heating.
What you need to inspect:
- NTC thermistor;
- three-way valve;
- set mode;
- head quality.
Batteries do not heat up well.
- Set the thermostats to a higher value.
- Make sure there is no leak in the system. Seal damaged connections.
- Diagnose the thermistor.
Now you know how to fix problems with your own hands. Observe safety precautions before starting work.
